A Day with a Sick Kiddo…

Seems Sibylla has caught whatever I had over the weekend! We were awakened by her cries at 4am, and went in to find her covered in vomit! My husband drew her a warm bath, while I changed her bedding and gave her stuffed ladybug a bath! My husband put her into clean pj’s and tucked her in between us. She slept until his alarm went off at 6am. Her little brother slept until 7am.

Alexei (the hubs) toasted little Sibby some toast, and she was enjoying her breakfast, although she did not eat much of it. Probably a good thing. A few minutes later it all came back up! This has gone on throughout the day. Sibylla will start to cough, then cry, and I know instantly what is happening! She has managed to get into the bathroom only once, which leaves me scrambling to clean up the rugs! Of course, our family room, where we spend most of our time, is carpeted! Needless to say, it has been bad enough that Alexei brought home a “Rug Doctor” from Lowe’s so that we can clean up tonight!

So our day has been spent laying low. It is really nice out, and when Sibylla is feeling good, she plays with her brother, and I think nothing is wrong. Then she comes to me with that look on her face, and puts her hand to her mouth! Needless to say we have been through 7 or 8 outfits, a pair of pj’s and I have changed my shirt once, and Vasili had to change his shirt….big laundry day! Right now she fell asleep in the overstuffed chair, and I’m going to let her sleep there because she is close by.

There is nothing like being a helpless parent watching your child while they are sick….knowing there is nothing you can do! I am hoping for the best after her nap!
